How to Live Stream Your Cricket Auction to YouTube & Facebook Using OBS Studio

Want to broadcast your society or corporate cricket auction to hundreds of fans watching at home? Streaming your auction live on YouTube or Facebook creates massive engagement for your league and sponsors.

In this guide, we show you how to set up OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software) with Bidoo's Stream Overlay View to broadcast real-time player bids, sold graphics, and team purses onto your stream.

Equipment & Software Needed

  1. Computer: Laptop with OBS Studio installed (Free & Open Source).
  2. Camera / Mobile Webcam: USB webcam or phone camera pointing at the auctioneer and team bidding tables.
  3. Microphone: Wireless lapel microphone or USB mic for clear auctioneer audio.
  4. Bidoo Account: Pro Pass or Free account on Bidoo (bidoo.in).

Step 1: Get Your Bidoo Stream Overlay URL

  1. Log in to your Bidoo event dashboard at app.bidoo.in.
  2. Navigate to Broadcast Settings and select Stream Overlay Mode.
  3. Copy your unique Stream Browser Source URL:
    https://bidoo.in/overlay/your-event-slug

Note: Bidoo's Stream Overlay is specially designed with a transparent background (rgba(0,0,0,0)), showing clean lower-third player cards, live bid amounts, and real-time team purse tickers over your live camera feed.

Step 2: Set Up OBS Studio

  1. Open OBS Studio on your computer.
  2. Under the Sources panel at the bottom, click the + button and select Video Capture Device (your camera feed).
  3. Click + again and select Browser Source.
  4. Name it Bidoo Auction Overlay.
  5. In the URL field, paste your Bidoo Stream Overlay link.
  6. Set Width to 1920 and Height to 1080.
  7. Check the box for Shutdown source when not visible. Click OK.

Step 3: Test Real-Time Synchronization

  1. Open your Bidoo Operator Console on your phone or laptop.
  2. Tap a bid or select a player lot.
  3. Watch your OBS preview screen: the player photo, current highest bid, and countdown timer will update instantly in sub-second speed on top of your video feed!

Step 4: Go Live!

  1. Copy your Stream Key from YouTube Live Dashboard or Facebook Live Producer.
  2. In OBS Studio, go to Settings > Stream, select your platform (YouTube Live / Facebook Live), and paste your Stream Key.
  3. Click Start Streaming in OBS!
